The Scottish Kennel Club Champ show

And the Dalmatian Club of Scotland Open show

Ellie and I travelled north to Edinburgh for the SKC and DCoS shows. We went up on Saturday, stopped off to look at the Kelpies, and stayed in a hotel. The girls love a hotel stay!

The girls’ showed their socks of at both shows, they are such stars in the ring.

Scottish Kennel Club Champ show results:
Seren 1st in Junior
Lottie 2nd in Post Grad
1st in Good Citizen

I’m so pleased and proud of them, and floating on cloud 9 with Lottie qualifying for Crufts in a strong Post Grad class.

Dalmatian Club of Scotland Open show:
Seren 2nd in Junior
Lottie 3rd in Post Grad

A few photos of the hotel and Kelpies …

A couple of critiques for Seren

I love a critique!

AV Utility: PB
2 Wallington’s Dalmatian, Ailsadot Astral Lyra. A very feminine bitch with a well proportioned head and a dark intelligent eye, she was good to handle, deep in brisket, well ribbed with good front and rear angulation, she moved well holding her shape and moved with a brisk even stride.

North of England Dalmatian Club Open Show – 17th April 2022.

Junior Bitch. (7, 5).

  1. Wallington, Ailsadot Astral Lyra. Also 3rd in a nice puppy class. Liked the size of this girl and she is very well balanced. Such even markings, dense spotting on a pure white coat, the darkest of eyes. Sufficient length of neck, level topline and well set tail. Moved with purpose holding her topline. Lisa Barrett.

The National Dog Show

Beth accompanied me and the girls to the National Dog Show at the Stafford Showground. It was lovely having her around to chat to, usually it’s big sister Ellie that comes with me when I have 2 or more dogs in the ring.

It was warm day, so the outside ring was a little warm!

Seren got 3rd in Junior and 1st in Novice, so has qualified for Crufts 2023.

Nothing for Lottie but she had a blast, she’s missed being the show girl. It was the first time out after Crufts for Lottie and she loved it! Maybe a little too much, as she rolled round the grass ring in front of the judge 🤣

The puppies are 1

Where has the year gone, I can’t believe it’s been a year since the 11 Ailsadot Astral puppies made their appearance.

To celebrate we had a birthday party, which 9 of the puppies and Lottie attended. They all enjoyed themselves, loved playing with each other. The owners also loved catching up with each.

The puppies had treats, toys and cake!

Critiques From BUBA Open Show

Love Seren and Mac’s critiques from British Utility Breeds Association Open show on 20th March 2022.

Puppy (15/12)
2, Ailsadot Astral Lyra. Eye catching 11 month old black spotted bitch with hand painted spots. Heavier frame than 1 but has many of the same qualities. Beautiful expression and lovely dark eye. Correct scissor bite. Nicely arched neck into good shoulders, level topline, correct tail set and carriage. An overall balanced puppy, was just a little looser on the move than 1 but still showed me enough to warrant her place. Presented in great coat and condition.

Open (9/9)
1, Sophtspot In The Zone. Outstanding 5 year old black spotted male, for me he ticks all the boxes, everything about him says quality. Handsome head, lovely dark eye and kind expression. He holds his ears well and he has a correct scissor bite. Plenty of substance, well muscled throughout, clearly showing he is male but not coarse in any way. Good length of neck into laid back shoulders and well defined withers. Ribs well sprung, deep chest, strong loin, level topline held on the move and his tail is set and held nicely. Elbows are tight to his chest, straight front legs, slight spring in pasterns down to tight cat feet. His ideally balanced front and rear are put to use as he shows off his smooth rhythmic movement which looked effortless. His coat is the icing on the cake, dark black well placed spots, on a clear white background. Presented in excellent coat and condition. Handled well. BOB

British Utility Breed Association Open Show

Seren and Mac went to the the Kennel Club Building for the BUBA open show yesterday. There was a big entry under the breed specialist judge.

Seren got 2nd in a big Puppy class and 2nd in AV Puppy Bitch.

Mac got 1st in a strong Open class and went onto to take Best in Breed. Sadly nothing in Best in Show but I’m really pleased with him.

Lottie went to help marshal as Scout hike … she was on the lunchtime check point, absolutely loved it …

Discover Dogs

A big part of Crufts for the general public visiting is the Discover Dogs area, where most breeds are available for them to say hello to. On Sunday Lottie and Seren did a shift on the Dalmatian section. We met lots of people, the girls got lots of fusses, Lottie blagged a chip or two and almost an ice cream!

It’s a privilege to be able to share our girls’ with people, and share how wonderful Dalmatians are as family pets. The girls were amazing, although Seren got very tired, ending up just lying down and letting people stroke her!

And to add the icing to the cake of a great weekend at Crufts, Lottie featured on their Saturday round up!
